The provost and deputy provost of the University of Ibadan’s College of Medicine, Professors Oluwabunmi Olapade-Olaopa and Obafunke Denloye have both tested positive for COVID-19.
This appeared on a Whatsapp group message Prof Olapade-Olaopa sent out on Sunday morning 29/03/2020 The message read;
“Dear colleagues, I wish to inform you that the deputy provost and I tested positive for the COVID-19 following the tests done on Friday.
“Although we are both asymptomatic, we have gone into self-isolation for the 14 days while our contacts are being observed closely to determine if they should also be tested.”

This has been confirmed by the University's management in a tweet.
This came after the Medical Director of the University College Hospital Ibadan, Prof Jesse A. Otegbayo said that he also tested positive for coronavirus.
