A Professor gets sanctioned over sexual harassment

Professor Ndifon, who is accused of sexually assaulting female law student, is suspended from the University of Calabar. Professor Cyril Ndifon, Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Calabar (UNICAL), has been placed on administrative leave after charges of breaking the organization's rules and regulations. The suspension was announced in letter from Mr. Gabriel Egbe, the university registrar, and it became effective on August 17, 2023. The University Management's decision to suspend Prof. Cyril Ndifon was result of how he handled question that was directed at him. After hearing his statement, the Vice Chancellor voiced displeasure with his justifications, which led to the suspension that followed. The formal letter stated,
“Please refer to our letter Ref UC/REG/DISC.45A dated August 14, 2023, on your alleged violation of the provisions of the extant laws and policies of the University and your response to the said letter which was dated 16th August, 2023.”
Prof. Ndifon has lost his position as Dean of the Faculty of Law due to the Vice Chancellor's displeasure. The suspension will be in place starting on August 17, 2023. Before leaving his position, Prof. Ndifon has been told to hand over all University property in his care as well as his official duties to the Sub-Dean of the Faculty. Additionally, he must refrain from entering University property until invited to do so by the panel in charge of the investigation.
